Halloween window stickers

Halloween goes back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, this was the marking of the end of summer and the start of the new year and winter, the Celtic people would light a bonfire and dress in costumes made from animal skins to ward off ghosts of the dead, that they believed would damage the crops at harvest. The more modern day version of Halloween is from the eighth century when Pope Gregory III announced November 1st as a day to honor all saints, giving the festival of Samhain it's new modern name of Halloween which is derived from the word "Hallow" meaning to honour all saints and October 31st being the eve of this day "Hallows-eve". So dressing up in scary costumes, having a party and putting Halloween decorations in your windows comes from an ancient festival to scare off ghosts of the dead.
